Randstad NV, the global leader in the HR services industry, announces its inclusion as the only HR services provider in the Professionals Services category within the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index (DJSI) for the 8th year in a row. Randstad received a score of 81 out of 100, well above the industry average of 25 points.

Launched in 1999, the DJSI recognizes the leading companies in each industry sector for responsible economic, environmental, and social performance. To be the market leader requires a sustainable approach to everything we do. We have chosen to focus our efforts on five of the UN Sustainable Development Goals: decent work and economic growth (SDG 8), reduced inequalities (SDG 10), gender equality (SDG 5), and quality education (SDG 4). In addition, with regard to climate action (SDG 13), we have committed to the Science-Based Targets initiative (SBTi) Business Ambition for the 1.5ºC pledge, and to setting science-based targets with the ambition of Net Zero by 2050.

Randstad announces that its Supervisory Board will propose changes in the Executive Board. Linda Galipeau will step down from the Executive Board effective the Annual General Meeting of Shareholders on March 26, 2019 to pursue her career outside Randstad. Rebecca Henderson and Karen Fichuk are nominated for appointment as members of the Executive Board with responsibilities for Randstad North America and Global Businesses respectively.

randstad workmonitor q4 2018: 74% of workers see technology impact as an opportunity.

Digitalization is often seen as a threat to the labor market. However, 74% of the global respondents of the latest Randstad Workmonitor see the impact of technology on their job as an opportunity. 58% of workers think that they will need a different skillset to work in this field and 80% want to acquire more digital skills to guarantee their future employability. Globally, 47% of the respondents feel pressured to develop their digital skills whereas in Italy and China 80% do so.

Digitalization is often seen as a threat to the labor market. Although 65% of the global respondents consider making a contribution to society by doing unpaid voluntary work as important, only 34% actively do so, according to the latest Randstad Workmonitor. However, if people would be given paid time off by their employer, 73% would be willing to do unpaid voluntary work.

Talking about the various generations in the workforce, 86% of the global respondents prefer working in a multi-generational team, according to the latest Randstad Workmonitor. 85% declare themselves as working in a multi-generational team (i.e, 10-15 years difference in age) - and thanks to an age-diverse team they are able to come up with innovative ideas and solutions.

Randstad shareholders adopt all agm resolutions

At the Annual General Meeting of Shareholders today, all resolutions on the agenda were adopted. Shareholders adopted the financial statements 2017 and approved the proposal to pay a regular dividend of € 2.07 and a special dividend of € 0.69. They also approved to pay dividend of € 12.6 million on preference shares B and C. All dividends will be paid fully in cash.

Contrary to what is generally thought, the traditional way of working, i.e., at the office during opening hours, still rules among the respondents of the latest Randstad Workmonitor. Globally, 68% agree with this sentiment, with India (85%) at the highest end and The Netherlands (47%) at the lowest end. Having said this, there is a clear shift toward an agile way of working, i.e., from multiple locations and outside standard opening hours, going on.
