Eco-Shell is Fjällräven's new "green" shell fabric.
Eco-Shell is made from recycled polyester and is as resistant to wind and rain as traditional multi-layer fabrics. Eco-Shell is also recyclable, does not use fluorocarbons and is climate-compensated.

Eco-Shell can be used both for autumn walks on blustery days and winter treks spent battling difficult wind and weather conditions.
Waterproof Eco-Shell is 100 per cent waterproof and keeps you completely dry and comfortable even during the most windblown downpours.
Windproof When cold air pushes its way through a garment, the temperature of the inside air pocket falls. Eco-Shell is completely windproof and keeps the cold at bay.
Breathable Eco-Shell's excellent breathability efficiently wicks away bodily moisture.

Protection in three layers
Eco-Shell's is made from a completely windproof and waterproof polyester that has microscopic holes to release the steam created by physical exertion. The front of the membrane is glued to an outer fabric made from recycled polyester and, to protect the membrane from wear on the inside, a thin layer of recycled polyester is laminated onto the back.
The outer fabric is treated with a fluorocarbon-free impregnation; raindrops and splashes merely bead and run off the fabric.

Environmental awards

Eco-Shell has received an environmental award before it has even been released. A jury consisting of representatives from Europe's leading outdoor magazines named our Eco Trail Jacket the recipient of the SOA Sustainability Award for the summer of 2011.
